William Clinkenbeard was born in St. Joseph, Missouri. He was educated at Harvard University, where he received an A.B. cum laude in 1972, and the University of Missouri, where he received a J.D. degree in 1975. He was admitted to the State Bar of Missouri in 1975 and the State Bar of California in 1982. From 1976 to 1977, he was a general counsel with the Missouri Department of Labor and Industrial Relations. From 1977 to 1981, he was an assistant prosecuting attorney for Buchanan County, Missouri. Mr. Clinkenbeard began practicing in Santa Barbara in 1982 as an associate with Archbald & Spray, then joined Bauer, Harris & McEvoy when that firm was established in 1983. AV rated by Martindale Hubbell, he is a member of the Santa Barbara County Bar Association (Board of Directors 2000-2009, President, 2008), State Bar of California, State Bar of Missouri, and Association of Southern California Defense Counsel. He is an Associate of the American Board of Trial Advocates (ABOTA).

Mr. Clinkenbeard’s practice focuses on medical malpractice, managed care, real estate, business litigation, professional liability and general liability matters.
