HUGH S. SPACKMAN was born in Regina, Saskatchewan, Canada. He was educated at Brigham Young University, where he received a B.A. in Political Science, with a minor in Japanese, in 1987, and his J.D. from Brigham Young University J. Reuben Clark School of Law in 1990. He was admitted to the State Bar of California in 1990 and is also admitted to the United States District Court, Central and Eastern Districts of California. Before joining the firm and moving to Santa Barbara in 1993, Mr. Spackman was an associate with Baker, Silberberg & Keener in Santa Monica, California, specializing in medical malpractice defense. He is a member of the State Bar of California, the Santa Barbara County Bar Association, the Association of Southern California Defense Counsel, and the American Board of Trial Advocates (ABOTA). Mr. Spackman is also a member of the California Medical-Legal Committee. He is involved with various local charities and sits on the Board of Directors of Angels Foster Care of Santa Barbara.
Mr. Spackman’s practice focuses on medical malpractice, managed care, elder abuse, employment and professional liability litigation.
